BREAKING NEWS: Pelosi’s Pants Explode Into Flames!

May 8, 2009

Here’s what San Fran Nan had to say about whether or not she knew about waterboarding being used:

“In that or any other briefing . . . we were not, and I repeat, were not told that waterboarding or any of these other enhanced interrogation techniques were used,” Pelosi said at a news conference in April. “What they did tell us is that they had some legislative counsel . . . opinions that they could be used, but not that they would.”

Here’s the problem: She’s a dirty, rotten, filthy, stinking liar.

Her spokesman says that the newly released memo backs up Nan’s claim that she was only briefed once. And so it does. Just how many times did the government need to remind Nan? Is she that forgetful? Should the meeting have been followed with weekly calls from the President saying, “Hey Nan, remember that thing we talked about? Yeah, well, we’re still doing it.”

San Fran Nan still contends that when she was told about waterboarding she was told that it might be used, not that it had been used.

From the actual report of the meeting:

“Briefing on EITs including use of EITs on Abu Zubaydah, background on authorities, and a description of the particular EITs that had been (emphasis mine) employed.”

The worst kind of liar. She lied about national security to score political points.

Obama Slashes Budget!

May 7, 2009

Well, no, not really, but I’m sure that’s how the Associated Press is playing it. Obama has released the details of his massive 3.4 trillion dollar budget. Included in that are cuts and eliminations of several programs amounting to $17 billion dollars.

The arrogance of the Administration drips like slime from a slug off of every defense of the paltry amount being cut in this Washington Post article.

Say it with me: 0.5 percent budget cut, about half of which comes from (surprise, surprise) the Defense Department.  Chump change. And the taxpayers are the chumps.

The Bully Pulpit, Part Two

May 7, 2009

More allegations are coming out of the woodwork about the Obama administration’s handling of dissent among the creditors to GM and Chrysler. Again, none of this is coming as that much of a shock. This is politics, Chicago-style.

The Business Insider has more.

If these allegations are true, this is a shocking look into a White House that is consumed with its own power. And though I’m no expert on the law, it might also well be illegal.
