The most overpaid people in America? Maybe the world?

What makes it worse, of course, is the fact that the best and brightest don’t stand a chance of making it onto this police force unless they are also heavily connected to local pols or highly-placed people who are already on the force.

I don’t begrudge any policeman from making a good wage, but when some of these people are pulling hundreds of thousands of dollars (supplied by you, the taxpayer) for doing little more than issuing speeding tickets and taking the beer away from high school students, then something is amiss.


A Campaign Promise Fulfilled

In order to fulfill his campaign promise to not raise taxes on people earning less than $250,000, President Obama issued an executive order forbidding anyone below that income threshold from drinking and smoking.


Bailout Mania

The advance word is that all Washington newspapers will endorse Gov. Gregoire in the next election.

Yeah, this won’t cause any conflict of interest at all. How long before the New York Times goes to Gov. Paterson or even Washington D.C. to beg for a bailout?

But then, who really believes in the idea of a free and unbiased press in the Age of Obama anyway?
